Wild Hearts Girls Groups
4th and 5th Graders
It is time to build the world we want our daughters to live in.
The Longing
Puberty is such a tender time. So much is stirring in the body and hearts of our girls. This threshold, leaving behind childhood, is a time to explore who they are and who they are becoming.
-
What if our girl had a place of belonging during this time to engage with both the passions and challenges she is facing?
-
What if she had a peer group dedicated to kindness to be her companions in this exploration?
-
What if she had another adult on this journey looking out for her with loving guidance?
Girls Group is a prayer that all girls feel supported, loved, seen, and that they belong during this pivotal time of leaving childhood and entering adolescence.

The tweens and teenage years are a time when our children even further wake up to the world. And they have challenges to face both in this time in life and this current culture: social media, school pressures, lack of a village, and a changing world and environment. Parents cannot contend with these influences alone, the village is needed. We are here to create a healthy girl culture for our young ones to explore their maturing hearts, minds, and bodies.
How I Work with the Girls
Each girl has her own unique gifts and will find her true self in her own unique way. That is why in Girls Group, I will expose these girls to a wide range of experiences, modes of exploration, and forms of expressions. Who I Am
I, Jen Griffith, have pursued a life of adventure and love affair with the world, running a public farm in Queens, NY, sailing the the Caribbean on a tall ship sailing vessel, living in a tent on Mount St Helens studying plant ecology, growing vegetables at the end of the road in Denali National Park among many others. All of the adventures have been about expressing myself through the creativity of life, connecting deeper to nature and finding my place in it, and offering others the chance to connect more deeply with both the outer nature and their own inner nature. Right now, I am most proud to be raising my 5 years old daughter and occasionally teaching at her forest school.

My work with children includes:
-
Developing and running multiple farm education programs
-
Working as an overnight camp counselor
-
Substitute teaching at NELA Forest School
-
Working on a sail training vessel for college groups
I am a certified Girls Group instructor and earned my BA in Environmental Science at Columbia University. I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm for life with these budding young women.
